Meet the Host: Tantoo Cardinal
Water Worlds is narrated in English and Cree by internationally acclaimed actor, Tantoo Cardinal.
Tantoo Cardinal is an award-winning actress of Indigenous descent can be seen with Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s, Killers of the Flower Moon, the Cannes Film Festival hit is in theatres now with multiple wins and nominations in this Awards season.
A Canadian native, she has appeared in over 120 film and television projects over the course of her 50-year career. Multi Award winning performer, including the Earle Grey Award (a lifetime achievement award by the Canadian Screen Awards), is a Member of the Order of Canada and is a CBC/Playback Hall of Fame inductee and a recipient of the 2020 Governor Generals Artistic Achievement Lifetime Achievement Award – Broadcasting and Film (awarded in 2021). She has Honorary Doctorates from 5 Universities.
Meet the Team

Len is a proud Mistawasis (Saskatchewan) band member that grew up urban Indigenous, his dad is Cree, and his mother has European ancestry. In 2011 he founded C.I.A. Solutions, a majority Indigenous owned film and advertising company. Over the past 12 years Len and his team have filmed and produced over 200 commercials and films, as well as music videos and documentaries. Their latest documentary, Resilience: The Aseniwuche Winewak Story, screened at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco. He is also a member of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and former President of the Alberta Native Friendship Centre Association.

Kerriann Cardinal hails from Fort McMurray, Alberta and is Metis, on her mother’s side. She is producer and has worked in various roles including 1st AD, production manager and field producer. Her production company, Sweetgrass Stories Inc. is in development on a feature documentary film along with pre-development on a short documentary film.

Over the last 35 years Hilary Pryor, has achieved an impressive reputation as a creative director, writer and producer of inspiring programming in documentary features and series, children’s series and drama. Her productions have won many awards including Geminis, Leos, Japan Prize and the prestigious Humanitas Prize. Recent credits include 7 seasons of the award-winning documentary series, Moosemeat and Marmalade, and the feature film, PERCY starring Christopher Walken.

Ryan was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media from the University of Lethbridge. Ryan joined the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary when he became a partner in C.I.A Solutions Inc, producing, directing, editing, and co-creating. During the past three years Ryan and his team have had two of their film projects, Momentum: From Nothing to NASCAR and Lost publicly voted on and selected to win funding to be created for TELUS Storyhive.

Geoff grew up in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. He has always been fascinated by nature and the ocean. In 1992, he got certified as an Open Water Diver and has been shooting underwater video professionally since 2005.

Danny Mauro is the director, writer and cinematographer of four documentary and lifestyle series in the undersea genre: Sport Diver, Undersea Explorer, Undersea Adventures, and The Blue Realm. He developed and filmed over 125 programs about the marine environment. In 2003 Danny he began his production of his first High-Definition series The Blue Realm in 2003. The thirteen-part series began airing in 2004 on Discovery HD Theater, Discovery Canada and National Geographic International.
